ASSONET, Mass. - Joseph Paul St. Amand¸ Jr., 56, of Assonet, Mass., and formerly of Lebanon, Conn., passed away Monday, June 3, 2013, while vacationing in Terceira, Azores, Portugal.
Born Jan. 9, 1957 in Wallingford, he was a son of Paul and Ann (Dunn) St. Amand of Sebastian, Fla.
Joe worked as a quality control inspector for Stop & Shop for many years.
He was an active and upbeat individual who possessed a happy and calming demeanor. Joe will be remembered for his love of travel, family, soccer, good food and drink and a hearty conversation.
In addition to his parents, he leaves two sons, Jeffrey, of Norwich, Conn., and Christopher, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a grandchild, Addison; three sisters, Barbara Ellmers, of Florida, Suzanne Gondek, of New Jersey and Mary Mann, of Meriden, Conn.; five brothers, George, Thomas and James, all of Connecticut, and Terry and Richard, of Colorado; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. A memorial service will follow immediately at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
