 MERIDEN - Danny C. Soltesz, 56, of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Meriden, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 5, 2014, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Born on Nov. 22, 1957, in Meriden, he was the son of Lawrence and the late Bettyanne (Field) Soltesz. He was a 1976 graduate of Mark T. Sheehan High School. He worked for many years as a truck driver and later as a plumber. He enjoyed martial arts, going to the beach and riding motorcycles with his boys. Danny will best be remembered for his kind, gentle heart and his love for the Lord.
Danny is survived by his father, Lawrence Soltesz, of Cottageville, S.C.; three sons, Danny C. Soltesz, Jr., and his wife, Shawna, of Cromwell, Paul D. Soltesz, of Dubois, Pa., and Jacob J. Soltesz, of Dubois, Pa.; two granddaughters, Amaya K. Soltesz and Addison G. Soltesz, both of Cromwell; two brothers, Lawrence Soltesz, Jr., of Cottageville, S.C., Allan H. Soltesz, of Meriden; and four sisters, Margo Jacobwitz, of Wallingford, Joanne Ross, of W. Charleston, S.C., Julie Soltesz, of Wallingford and Penny Martorelli, of Cottageville, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
